During today’s trading session, BSE-listed companies achieved a significant milestone by collectively exceeding ₹400 lakh crore in market capitalization for the first time. This accomplishment occurs amidst a continuous rally in large, mid, and small-cap stocks, extending over three consecutive sessions, with heavyweight stocks notably contributing to the upward momentum.
Positive financial updates from major companies have strengthened market sentiment, creating an optimistic outlook leading into the upcoming earnings season.
Heavyweight HDFC Bank’s strong business update significantly contributed to enhancing index performance, while impressive auto sales figures added to investor optimism about the expanding economy. Furthermore, shares of Reliance Industries, the nation’s largest company by market capitalization, exhibited notable strength.
The recent uptick in equities has propelled the market capitalization of BSE-listed companies to a record high of Rs 4,01,16,018.89 crore (equivalent to USD 4.81 trillion). This milestone follows the crossing of the Rs 300-lakh-crore threshold by BSE-listed firms in July of the preceding year.
