Physics Wallah (PW), an edtech unicorn, has granted full fee waivers to 51,000 students for the academic year 2023-2024. This move aims to support and empower economically disadvantaged individuals who lack access to quality education. The total cost of this contribution, in terms of fee waivers, exceeds Rs 17 crore.

Since its establishment in 2020, PW has been offering high-quality and affordable courses, addressing the affordability challenges faced by students in remote areas. The company, in a press release, highlighted that this initiative, announced by the founder and CEO, aims to make education more accessible and level the playing field for students in terms of opportunities.

The edtech platform offers free quality education on YouTube to more than 40 million students.

PW’s Founder and CEO, Alakh Pandey, expressed, “This initiative is dedicated to students from financially disadvantaged backgrounds who continue to pursue their academic goals. Our goal is to inspire them and assure them that we support them, ensuring that financial limitations will not obstruct their Right to Education. Our dedication to expanding this educational revolution nationwide will persist.”

To benefit from the ‘Right to Education program,’ students were required to complete a form on the PW App.

The fee waiver covered various courses including NEET Ultimate Crash Course 2.0, JEE Ultimate Crash Course 2.0 for droppers and class 12 students, Arjuna JEE and NEET 4.0, Board booster for class 12 science, class 10th board booster, NEET Hindi crash course, Neev fast track for class 9, Umang 2.0 for class 8, commerce exam booster for class 11 and 12, as well as arts courses for class 11th and 12th.

Originating as a YouTube channel in 2014, PW achieved Unicorn status in 2022. It now boasts over 27 lakh paid students and 1 crore app downloads on the PW App. Expanding into 28 test prep categories and a skilling vertical, PW operates over 75 tech-enabled Vidyapeeth (offline) and 30 Pathshala (hybrid) centers nationwide.
