Yamuna Expressway Industrial Authority plans to designate two sectors in Gautam Buddh Nagar district for Japanese and Korean industrial cities, as reported by Live Hindustan. Companies from Japan and Korea will establish their industrial offices in these cities. The Japanese city will be located in sector 5A, while the Korean city will be in sector 4A. Residential areas will also be provided for foreign staff.
The choice to construct these cities was made during meetings with Japanese and Korean investors before last year’s UP Global Investors Summit.
The upcoming Jewar airport in Noida, just 10 km away from the future site of these cities, is anticipated to provide a significant boost to both projects.
The decision to construct these cities was made during meetings with Japanese and Korean investors prior to last year’s UP Global Investors Summit. Representatives from these countries also inspected the industrial sectors last year.
The development of these cities is expected to cost 2,544 crore. Arun Vir Singh, CEO of Yamuna Industrial Development Authority, discussed the plans for these cities, stating that they will include companies manufacturing chips, AI equipment, semiconductors, and cameras.
They are being designed to be self-sustaining, with provisions for housing, schools, hospitals, and other necessary amenities for Japanese and Korean residents.
Meanwhile, Shailendra Bhatia, an Officer on Special Duty (OSD) at Yamuna Industrial Development Authority, informed the publishing house that the sectors would feature mixed land use, with 70 percent designated for core industry, 13 percent for commercial use, 10 percent for residential purposes, and 5 percent for institutional needs.
In December of last year, officials from the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority planned visits to Japan, South Korea, and Singapore to encourage businesses to establish units in Noida, Greater Noida, and the Yamuna Expressway region.
“We will clarify the terms and conditions of various schemes aimed at selling our industrial plots to ensure potential investors understand their benefits. Our goal is to attract investors to establish manufacturing units for electronic products and medical equipment. We have numerous schemes for the medical device park and electronics hubs being developed along the Yamuna Expressway near the site of the Noida International Airport in Jewar,” said Arun Vir Singh, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Yamuna Industrial Development Authority, ahead of his visits to Japan and South Korea last year.
